Benefits of yoga

Yoga is a style of Physical, Mental and Spiritual disciplines which originated  from Ancient India, joining the Mind, Body & Spirit as one and also leads you on a journey to self relaization to become aware of our own true Self. Yoga encourages you to focus on your breath and the sensations in your body, this will train your brain to notice what is happening in your body, helping you to pay more attention and stay in the present. 

Yoga will improve your brain's ability to quickly and accurately process information (more so than running) as this mindful awareness brings structural changes in the brain which will help with your memory and paying attention. Tensing and relaxing muscles along with mindful awareness and physical sensations help us to relax which will significally improves sleep quality with people with insomnia. Focus is spent opening the body, especially the heart, as this will reduce high blood pressure, bad chloestrerol and stress, all risk factors for heart diesease. Yoga helps you to eat more mindfully as you focus on your breathing it trains your brain to notice whats happpening in your body helping you to pay more attentin to sensations of hunger and satiety and as a result you will see food as fuel rather than emotionally eating, bingeing and food related guilt. Overall Yoga willl bring new energy, a calmer mind and an overall better health.


Yoga is inclusive of all Ages & Abilities, please do not think you are too old, too young, not flexible enough, not strong enough as there are options for everybody you can come along to the classes and sit in a chair and i will give you yoga poses and you will still achieve the same benefit as others.
